Petah Tikva
The World Music Contest 16, was the 16th edition of The World Music Contest. This edition held in Petah Tikva after Israel won the previous edition of this contest.
A lot of changes in TWMC this edition. We are going back to 5 qualified countries in each semi-final, because the number of participating members is going backwards. The Funky Loser will now be chosen out of the countries who finish on place 6. In this edition it was Italy.
Something new in the contest is the VHB-Trophy. Another wild card trophy in the contest named and awarded by the manager of the contest. He chooses one of his favourite songs who hasn't qualify. First winner of this trophy was Russia, it became last.
The last change starting from this edition is the controversial rule°4. The manager banned all the Eurovision songs and artists from the contest, also songs and artist from national selections are banned from the contest. Some special themes will be provided in TWMC.

Second victory for the manager of the contest, this is the third medal for Belgium (2 gold, 1 silver). Malta took its second silver medal, it became already second in TWMC#9. For Estonia is this also a second medal, after finishing on the second place in the 10th edition.
